Their musical influences range from the ‘90s Florida technical death metal scene to Elliott Smith to Hildegard von Bingen. They dabble with midwest emo and modern prog rock, they occasionally flirt with metal, and they’ve asked out country a few times over text but were left on read. Add some grunge, harmonies, climate anxiety, a sprinkle of southern twang, and a lot of homoeroticism, and you have the first three minutes of a Normal People song.
